What happens when you have a dog who absolutely loves going to the dog park?
Well if you are Eclipse, a 2-year-old black lab, then you simply figure out what time the bus comes, hop on board, then learn which stop to get off at so you can catch up with your buds at the park! This is exactly what has been going down on Seattle public transit as Eclipse has become a regular rider on the D-Line. She not only hops on board, but knows exactly which stop to get off of.
Does Eclipse have a owner? And if so, where the heck is he at? Well, it turns out owner Jeff Young sometimes hasnt yet finished off his cigarette when the bus shows up, so he allows Eclipse to get a head start and he will meet her when his nicotine fix is completed.
“I catch up with her at the dog park,” said Young.
Pretty weird, but it seems to work. A passenger on the bus who frequently encounters Eclipse, said the following:
“All the bus drivers know her. She sits here just like a person does. She makes everybody happy. How could you not love this face?”
Apparently one guy was a bit blown away after a solo black lab hopped up on a seat next to him and ended up getting off at the same stop he did. The Seattle radio host, Miles Montgomery, quickly snapped a selfie with the pooch so people would believe he was sitting next to a dog on the bus. He posted the pic with the caption below.
Apparently the rules have it that dogs are allowed to ride on buses, depending on the driver, and as along as the dog isnt a hazard. Though a Metro Transit spokesperson did say Eclipse should really be on a leash.
Pretty amazing, right? Well it turns out its actually more of a common scenario in Moscow, Russia where there are a ton of stray dogs. They hop on and off, and actually guide one another so they get off at the right stop!
